ILT GRANTS ALLOCATED ON THURSDAY 19TH AUGUST 2010

Bowls Southland
A grant of $10,000 to Bowls Southland to assist with staging of the 2011 Trans Tasman International Bowls Test in Invercargill, over the period 27 February to 5 March 2011.

Venture Southland
A grant of $4,000 to Venture Southland to assist with staging of the New Year’s Eve Charity Street Party on New Year’s Eve.

Southland Justices of the Peace Association (Inc)
A grant of $5,000 to assist with the staging of the New Zealand Justices of the Peace Conference in Invercargill over the period 4-6 March 2011.

James Hargest College – Itinerant Music Services
A grant of $3,500 to assist with running the Southland Secondary Schools Jazz Festival at Ascot Park Hotel.

Invercargill City Charitable Trust
A grant of $50,000 to assist with the production of a new New Zealand feature film called ‘Two Little Boys’.

Squash Southland
A grant of $4,000 to assist with staging of the 2010 Southland Open and Southland Junior Tournaments.

Rape and Abuse Support Centre Southland Inc
A grant of $5,000 to assist with operational funding, counselling services, training staff and volunteers and supervision for the 2010/11 year.

Bowls Southland
A grant of $10,000 to Bowls Southland to assist with the development and promotion of bowls in Southland over the 2010/11 year.

Golf Southland (Inc)
A grant of $8,000 to assist with operational funding for the 2010/11 year.

Southland Indoor Leisure Centre Charitable Trust
A grant of $150,000 assist with operating costs of the Stadium, capital plant/equipment and maintenance/renewal of items within the Stadium Southland complex for the 2010/11 year.

Save the Children NZ – Southland Branch
A grant of $3,500 to Save the Children to assist with the annual leave of the shop situated at 8 Windsor Street, Invercargill

Southland Science and Technology Fair
A grant of $3,000 to assist with venue hire and catering costs at the 2010 NZAS Southland Science and Technology Fair.

Invercargill Summer Festival Inc
A grant $10,000 to assist with staging of the Invercargill Summer Festival on the 12th and 13th February 2011.

Southland Basketball Association
A grant of $15,000 to assist with the costs of running the Southland Men’s and Women’s Provincial Basketball teams for the 2010 season.

Invercargill Working Men’s Club – Dart Section
A grant of $3,000 to assist with the various costs associated with staging the 2010 Dart Nationals in Invercargill over the period 6-11 July 2010.

M.E. Information and Support Service
A grant of $2,000 to assist with Co-ordinator wages, support group room hire, photocopying etc and to assist with the telephone account.

Hearing Association Inc Southland
A grant of $8,000 to assist with payment of salaries to the Field Officer/Office Manager and the part-time receptionist in order for them to continue to provide their services to the people of Invercargill.

Southland Chevrolet Club Inc
A grant of $3,000 to assist with the Super Chevy National Event to be held at Stadium Southland over Labour weekend 2010.

Invercargill Rugby Club
A grant of $14,000 to assist with their ongoing administration costs for the 2010 rugby season.

Invercargill Schools Whiteboard Project No 4
A grant of $6,939.57 to the Invercargill Schools Whiteboard Project No 4, to purchase projectors, cables, consumables, mounts and leads to complete the installation of a further 124 interactive whiteboards installed in Invercargill primary schools in 2009.

Waverley Bowling Club
A grant of $195,554 to the Waverley Bowling Club to erect a structure over the existing artificial synthetic surface green and upgrade the existing clubrooms to comply with Invercargill City Council specifications.

St Mary’s Basilica
A grant of $15,000 to St Mary’s Parish to repair the roof of the Basilica to weatherproof it and protect the valuable restoration that has already been carried out on the inside of the building.

Oyster Orators
A grant of $1,000 to Oyster Orators to purchase visual aids and props.

City of Invercargill Highland Pipe Band
A grant of $20,000 to the City of Invercargill Highland Pipe Band to assist with costs for the three competing bands for the 2010/11 year.

Diabetes Southland Inc
A grant of $3,000 to Diabetes Southland Inc to assist with costs for the 2010/11 year.
 
Sport Southland
A grant of $50,000 to Sport Southland to assist with annual operating costs for the year ending 31 March 2011.

Takitimu Home Anglican Care Trust
A grant of $50,000 to the Takitimu Home Anglican Care Trust to assist with a building upgrade, renovations to existing buildings, plus refurbishment in a staged development programme at 110 Conyers Street, Invercargill.

Southland Football Incorporated
A grant of $25,000 to Southland Football Incorporated to assist with operational funding for the 2010/11 season.

Touch Southland Inc
A grant of $16,000 to Touch Southland to cover the costs associated with the developments programmes for the 2010 season, to assist with wages, vehicle expenses, module costs, office and ground rentals and administration expenses also for the 2010/11 season.

Southland Youth One Stop Shop Trust Board
A grant of $10,000 to the Southland Youth One Stop Shop Trust Board to assist with operational costs for the 2010/11 year.

Venture Southland – Roxanna Zamani
A scholarship of $2,500 to Roxanna Zamani to assist her to attend the prestigious fashion expo “Mittelmoda Fashion Awards” in Italy.

Venture Southland – Sophie Hardy
A scholarship of $2,500 to Sophie Hardy to assist her to attend the prestigious fashion expo “Mittelmoda Fashion Awards” in Italy.

Southland Council, NZ Reading Association
A grant of $8,000 to the Southland Council, NZ Reading Association to again place “Dreamweaver” Elizabeth Miller in Invercargill schools to provide her skills as a storyteller.

ILT Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for 2011
A grant of $380,000 to continue the ILT Scholarship Scheme for 2011 for pupils who reside in the Invercargill area who attend secondary school in Invercargill and who meet the eligibility criteria for an ILT Tertiary Scholarship.

South Centre Anglican Care Trust (South Centre Community House)
A grant of $15,000 to the South Centre Anglican Care Trust to assist with administration and running costs for the South Centre.

Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand – Southland Centre
A grant of $3,000 to the Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand – Southland Centre to assist with staging of the annual competition to be held on Saturday 26th June in Invercargill.

Invercargill Tap Dancing Association
A grant of $4,000 to the Invercargill Tap Dancing Association to assist with running their competitions, to purchase trophies and a laptop.

Transport for Disabled Trust Southland
A grant of $5,000 to the Transport to provide transport for disabled, injured and incapacitated.

Fight for Kidz
A grant of $14,000 to assist with the Fight for Kidz charity boxing event to be held at Stadium Southland on 28th August 2010.

Otago and Southland Battalion Group
A grant of $3,000 to assist with the cost of the Otago and Southland Battalion Group’s celebrations for 150 years of Military Service in New Zealand.
 
Deep South Canoe Polo Club
A grant of $4,000 to assist with hosting the 2010 Inter Regional and New Zealand Canoe Polo competition over the period 1-3 October 2010.

Queens Park Golf Club
A grant of $20,000 to assist with removal of asbestos from the ceilings of the clubrooms, to upgrade the toilet facilities and for the purchase and installation of security and fire alarms, also at their clubrooms.

Foveaux Harmony Chorus Inc
A grant of $3,500 to assist with their annual scholarship prize and to help meet the cost of levies.

Performing Arts Competitions Association of New Zealand (PACANZ) – under the umbrella of Dance Southland
A grant of $10,000 to assist with staging the Mazda Foundation Young Performer Awards in Invercargill on 15-17 October 2010 in conjunction with Dance Southland.

Waikiwi Rugby Club
A grant of $2,800 to assist with the various costs associated with the upgrade of the bar in their clubrooms.

Invercargill Garrison Band Society Inc
A grant of $30,000 to assist with Stage 2 of their asset replacement project.

Southland Badminton Association
A grant of $16,500 to assist with the High Performance Coaches, Development Coach Programmes and additional development assistance.

Outward Bound Scholarships
Scholarships of $51,600 to provide 12 Outward Bound Scholarships (x2 for each of the five Invercargill secondary schools and x2 for the Southern Institute of Technology).

Southland Boys’ High School
A grant of $3,500 to Southland Boys’ High School to assist with sending a team of two senior SBHS catering students, plus their teacher to represent New Zealand at the 2010 International Secondary School’s Culinary Challenge in September 2010.

Pregnancy Help Inc
A grant of $3,500 to Pregnancy Help Inc to assist with the cost of rent and power for their rooms at 34 Forth Street and also for volunteers travel costs.

Southern Filmmakers Trust
A grant of $4,000 to the Southern Filmmakers Trust .to cover a shortfall in fund expended during the making of the film “Oku Tuakana – My Brothers”.

Catholic Women’s League - St Patrick’s Branch
A grant of $2,500 to assist with costs in hosting the National conference in July 2010.

Rugby Southland
A grant of $350,000 to Rugby Southland to assist with the management, administration and general operation of the amateur game of rugby covering all age groups in Invercargill for the 2010 season (this also includes the funding of Rugby Southland’s Junior Development Programme for the year).

Invercargill City Council – Tickertape Parade (Southland Stags)
A grant of $7,214 to the Invercargill City Council to assist with costs involved in the “Welcome Home/Celebration” the ICC organised for the Southland Stags rugby team after winning the Ranfurly Shield.

Hospice Southland Charitable Trust
A grant of $20,000 to Hospice Southland to assist with operating expenses for the 2010/2011 year.

Southland Kindergarten Association
A grant of $3,990 to the Southland Kindergarten Association to assist with costs involved in holding an educational conference for kindergarten and pre-school teachers.

Murihiku Maori and Pasifika Cultural Trust
A grant of $2,500 to the Murihiku Maori and Pasifika Cultural Trust to assist towards the Polyfest festival being held at Stadium Southland over the period 5-6 August 2010.

Rowing Southland – (Southland Amateur Rowing Association)
A grant of $3,500 to assist with Rowing Southland’s ongoing coaching programmes, initiatives and activities for the 2010 rowing season.
Jubilee Budget Advisory Service Ltd
A grant of $5,000 to Jubilee Budget Advisory Service Ltd to assist with the upgrade of their computers, printer and educational material including brochures, power-point as well as promotion of their workshops.

Invercargill Public Libraries
A grant of $6,000 to the Invercargill Public Libraries to assist with the Children’s Summer Reading Programme, the Children’s Book Club, the 21st Anniversary celebrations of the Library, and for visiting author Craig Smith’s visit to the Invercargill library.

Lone Star St Mary’s Netball Club
A grant of $5,000 to Lone Star St Mary’s Netball Club to assist with their ongoing costs for the 2010 season.

Citizen’s Advice Bureau
A grant of $7,000 to the Citizen’s Advice Bureau to assist with the purchase of blinds, for ongoing expenses and to help publicise their service, especially the new website which will be launched soon.

Interactive Whiteboard Professional Development
A grant of $109,000 to the five Invercargill secondary schools (not in equal amounts) to provide professional development in the use of interactive whiteboards for Invercargill secondary schools for the 2010 year.

Invercargill City Council – Learn to Swim Classes
A grant of $65,000 to the Invercargill City Council to continue the ILT Invercargill Schools Swimming Programme for the 2010 year.

Invercargill Musical Theatre Inc
A grant of $25,000 to Invercargill Musical Theatre Inc to assist with production costs for their three productions for the 2010 year.

Southland Warm Homes Trust
A grant of $100,000 to the Southland Warm Homes Trust to provide subsidised insulation products and heating appliances for Southland households for the 2010 year.

Southland Secondary School Cultural Scholarship 2010
A grant of $4,500 to the Southland Secondary School Cultural Scholarship 2010 to assist with the costs involved in organising the local Shakespearean Festival for secondary schools and in sending the winners to the Final.

Invercargill Primary School Educational Initiatives Trust
A grant of $104,000 to the Invercargill Primary School Educational Initiatives Trust to assist with staffing and running enrich@ilt gifted and talented programme, and ICT enrichment programme over the period 1 April 2010 – 31 March 2011.

Southland Secondary School Sports Association
A grant of $10,000 to the Southland Secondary School Sports Association to assist with the co-ordination and promotion of Secondary school sport in the region.

Pirates – Old Boys Rugby Club
A grant of $25,000 to Pirates – Old Boys Rugby Club to assist with their club activities for the 2010 year.

Dan Davin Literary Foundation
A grant of $6,000 to the Dan Davin Literary Foundation to assist with the Dan Davin Workshops and Literary Award competition for secondary school students and also to host a number of literary events as part of May Arts month.

Sport Southland
A grant of $20,000 to Sport Southland to assist with hosting the 2010 University Games in Invercargill over the period 13-16 April 2010.

Venture Southland – ILT Kidzone Festival
A grant of $42,000 to Venture Southland to assist with the ILT Kidzone Festival being held in July 2010.

Sport Southland – Sports Event Creation and Management
A grant of $25,000 to Sport Southland to assist with the identification, creation and management of major sporting events for the city of Invercargill.

Sport Southland – 2010 Sports Awards
A grant of $12,000 to Sport Southland to assist with costs associated with the Southland Sports Awards which are to be held on Friday 7th May 2010.

Southland Secondary Principal’s Association – Careers Expo 2010
A grant of $8,000 to the Southland Secondary Principal’s Association to assist with operational costs of staging the 2010 Southland Careers Expo at Stadium Southland over two days, 19th and 20th August 2010.

Southland Disability Enterprises Inc
A grant of $100,000 to Southland Disability Enterprises Inc to assist with the Southland Disability Enterprises Inc proposed Mechanical Recycling Facility.

Hockey Southland
A grant of $20,000 to Hockey Southland to assist with administration costs, coaching and development for the period April 2010 to March 2011.

Invercargill Garrison Band Society / Ascot Park Brass of Invercargill
A grant of $20,000 to the Invercargill Garrison Band Society / Ascot Park Brass of Invercargill to assist with their ongoing operating expenses for the 2010 year.

A grant of $30,000 to the Southland Art Society Inc to assist with costs of running the 2010 ILT Art Awards Exhibition.

Marist Brothers Old Boys Rugby Football Club
A grant of $17,000 to Marist Brothers Old Boys Rugby Football Club to assist with the purchase of playing gear, training equipment and club administration costs.
